The Brief

Designed as a new-construction home for a young family, Villa Verano was conceived around the energy of Miami living—close to the financial and entertainment districts of Brickell, yet far enough away to feel private and residential. The goal was to create a home that felt warm, inviting, and unpretentious, with generous spaces for family life, working from home, entertaining, and enjoying Miami’s year-round connection to the outdoors.

The Challenge

The challenge was to give a contemporary new build an immediate sense of warmth and identity. Rather than allowing the architecture to feel overly pristine or formal, we focused on creating intimacy through materiality, texture, and a restrained palette, while strengthening the relationship between the interior and the home’s outdoor spaces.

The Process

From the beginning, the design was developed as a complete experience rather than a collection of individual rooms. Indoor and outdoor areas were considered together, with expansive sliding doors, the pool, solarium, and exterior living spaces becoming natural extensions of the interiors. The office and private areas were given the same attention, ensuring the home could move comfortably between work, family life, relaxation, and entertaining.

The Design Approach

A monochromatic palette of warm, earthy tones establishes the foundation, layered with natural textures, deep browns, muted greens, bronze, chrome, and sculptural accents. The contrast between darker, more masculine elements and softer materials creates a home that feels grounded yet relaxed. Throughout, tactile surfaces and organic forms soften the contemporary architecture and bring a sense of permanence to the new construction.

The Result

Villa Verano feels distinctly connected to Miami without relying on a predictable tropical aesthetic. Open, tactile, and quietly expressive, the home balances contemporary architecture with warmth and ease—a family residence designed to feel lived in, welcoming, and connected to its surroundings from the very beginning.
